Civil War papers including photocopies of two pocket diaries, 1864-1865, kept by Sergeant-Major Allen Higgins, 33rd Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry; a summary of the Regiment's activities, 1862-1864, as reported by Colonel Jonathan B. Moore; a photocopy of an 1865 letter from William Allen to commanding officers, requesting war mementoes to be sold at the Wis. State Fair to raise money for the Soldiers' Home; and a photocopy of an 1891 letter concerning a veterans' reunion. Also included is a brief history of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. written ca. 1960 by an unidentified writer.
